BONITA SPRINGS, Flor.,–  Over 100 Kalmar Ottawa dealers, spouses and guests recently met at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort and Spa to reconnect and prepare for selling the all new T2. Formally unveiled at their 2014 dealer meeting, in Phoenix, Arizona, the Kalmar Ottawa T2 terminal tractor is now a reality and in full production at the manufacturing facility in Ottawa, Kansas.


The 2015 meeting theme was “Time to Deliver.” From advertising and marketing, to financing, rental programs and online tools, Kalmar Ottawa laid out its strategy and resources to help dealers successfully go to market with the T2.  One of the key assets provided to dealers was the 2015 Kalmar Ottawa Dealer Playbook, packed with sales strategies, ad templates, direct mail, online ad templates, customizable flyers, rental programs, parts programs, financing and more. “We wanted to provide a practical, one-stop guide to selling the T2, said Bob McTernan, marketing and dealer operations manager. “The Kalmar Ottawa Dealer Playbook puts the answers at our dealers’ fingertips.” In addition to the printed Playbook, Kalmar Ottawa Dealers can also access best practices videos, parts, warranty, sales and technical information through the dealer secure website.


Keynote Speaker, Bob Costello

Guest speaker, Chief Economist and Vice President of the American Trucking Association, Bob Costello, explained that 2015 promises to be the best year in a decade for transportation and, in particular, for equipment sales. According to Mr. Costello, three key indicators drive this forecast: New housing starts are on the rise, manufacturing is expected to grow and consumers will be willing to spend more in 2015.


Record Setting Sales Event

The Kalmar Ottawa Dealer Meeting finished with a bang, when dealers purchased a record 512 new T2 terminal tractors at the ever-popular sales event. “I thought last year was amazing when we sold 400 terminal tractors, said Dave Wood, Vice President Sales & Marketing, Terminal Tractors Americas Region. “ I was truly amazed and humbled at the strong response to the T2.  Our dealers are the best!”
